Thame Remembers

HMHS Glenart Castle dive

It had always been an ambition of the Thame Remembers Project to leave a commemorative token at the actual wreck site of a vessel in which a man from Thame had lost his life.

A few months ago we were contacted by Major Henrietta Poon, Royal Army Medical Corps, who had been part of the team that had earlier visited Scapa Flow and laid a wreath on our behalf above the wreck of HMS Vanguard.

She was working with another team planning to dive HMHS Glenart Castle and asked whether they could do anything for Thame Remembers which, of course, we accepted without hesitation.

We are thrilled to have footage of that memorial dive on the centenary of her sinking. See for footage and images.
